How to install Linux on Windows with WSL
1. Enable this following windows features
  • Virtual Machine Platform
  • Windows Subsystem for Linux
2. List the available Linux distributions
  1. wsl --list --online
The following is a list of valid distributions that can be installed.
Install using 'wsl --install -d <Distro>'.

3. Download the Linux kernel update package
WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x800701bc
Error: 0x800701bc WSL 2 requires an update to its kernel component.

4. Install the Ubuntu 20.04 distribution
  1. wsl --install --distribution Ubuntu-20.04
5. Update and upgrade the packages
  1. sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
